JOHN P. LOUDERMAN III, Attorney at Law

John Louderman received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, in 1970.  He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1975 and has been engaged in the practice of law since that time concentrating solely in family law issues for the last fifteen years.  Prior to that time, he had extensive experience in criminal law and related issues.

Over his more than thirty years of family law practice John has represented thousands of clients in divorce actions, paternity cases, custody and placement disputes, child support/maintenance/family support issues, juvenile cases, adoptions and termination of parental rights cases and other family law issues. Further John has been appointed by the Courts as the guardian ad litem, a court-appointed lawyer that represents the best interests of minor children in family law cases, in hundreds of cases.  He has also been the mediator or arbitrator in hundreds of cases.  This experience is invaluable for an attorney representing your best interests through a family law issue.

John practices primarily in Dane County, Wisconsin, with his office located in Madison, Wisconsin, and he has practiced extensively in Rock, Green, Iowa, Sauk, Columbia, Jefferson, Dodge, Lafayette and Walworth counties. This means John is very familiar with the Judges, Court Commissioners and the other court personnel that will be involved in a family law matter.

John has also provided mediation and arbitration services for individuals and families in hundreds of cases. Depending on the circumstances mediation can be a more appropriate approach to the issues at hand saving clients time and cost.

John routinely drafts and amends Wills for clients that are going through the divorce process.

In addition to his experience, John has another valuable resource available to him.  His wife was the chairperson of the special education department at West High School in Madison for 23 years, during which she brought the department from one teacher to the largest department in the school.  She taught emotionally disturbed children for thirty-two years until she retired.  She taught and was the case manager for hundreds of children, including at-risk children.  As a result, she provides a wealth of knowledge to John whenever questions arise about children, their issues and the programs that are available to assist them.
